'Sons of Anarchy' Season 7 News: Jax Sheds Tears in Episode 2 'Toil and Trouble'

Season 7 of "Sons of Anarchy" got off to a good start as it broke ratings records, with 10.2 million viewers tuning in to the premiere episode. With FX doing a great job of teasing the final season of the show over the past few months, it's no surprise that season 7's debut is the best season opener to date.

Spoilers are out for the season's second episode, titled "Toil and Trouble."

After Gemma blames a Lin Triad member for killing Tara, Jax's revenge doesn't stop with him as he plots to avenge the murder of his wife.

In the episode's trailer, Jax is told that "the level of payback you're talking about pulls the club in a very different direction."

Jax is seen being very emotional as he says, "it's just survival, man" and he sheds a tear for Tara.

Gemma then puts in her two cents and advises him to stay hidden.

"The way you stay alive is that people don't know you're here," she says.

Though fans were expecting that the show will have a longer run, eventually, all good things must come to an end. Executive producer Paris Barclay talked about the reasons for ending the series.

"I am totally bummed but at the same time I don't think that it should go on any longer," Barclay told Hollywood Life. "I think we should do the right thing for a television series and go out on a high, and it is not that we want to leave people left behind, but the story is just about to end."

Watch the next episode of "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 on Sept. 16 on FX.
