'Everybody's Gone to the Rapture' PS4 Gameplay, News: Sony Launches First Look (VIDEO)

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that they will soon be launching "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture" for PS4 soon, with a release of a gameplay teaser on YouTube.

Initially unveiled during Gamescom 2013 in Germany, Sony Computer Entertainment and games developer The Chinese Room has released information they are putting the finishing touches to "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture," which will be launched for PlayStation 4 in the very near future.

In a teaser trailer recently posted on IGN's YouTube channel, gamers were treated to a spectacularly rendered rural English village set in an apocalyptic time. Created using CryEngine advanced development, the game will allow players to explore an open-world environment shortly after the occurrence of an apocalyptic event.

Players will experience the game's backstory via discoverable recording devices like radios, TV's, and phones, giving players the opportunity to take charge of their own narrative for a unique experience with each gameplay.

The Chinese Room has posted a series of tweets on its social media account informing their followers the game has entered the optimizations stage with all pertinent content in place. According to Dan Pinchbeck, the developer's creative director, the team working on "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture" is currently smoothing out the kinks and polishing the game in preparation for its release.

With the world of the game and the scenes locked in place, The Chinese Room is proceeding from the "it works" stage to "it's a great game" stage, and are at the point of playing the game several times over to ensure all textures and seams are smooth, and which points of the games need to be improved and tightened up.

The choral music and orchestral scores for the first person adventure game are scheduled to be recorded within the month, with sound effects to be added soon after. Pinchbeck hinted at a new A.I. system the team had just installed, but declined to give more details so as not to divulge too much of the game before it is launched.

The large and highly detailed "Everybody's gone to the Rapture" will begin immersing players into its post-apocalyptic world on PS4 within the year.
