Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact Release Date, Specs Rumors: Fall 2014 Schedule

The Sony Xperia Z3 is the next flagship phone of the Xperia series and will succeed the Xperia Z2. Its release is mostly varied across different countries, with some getting the phone earlier than others. However, a general release date for the phone was scheduled for fall of 2014 and is now most likely rolling out to different countries and with different wireless carriers.

Sony has already released the Xperia Z3 in India for Rs. 51.990 ($845) as well as the Xperia Z3 Compact for Rs. 44,990 ($730).

So far, India has been the only country to receive the smart phone but the Western countries should be getting both phones soon. The Xperia Z3 was first unveiled during a pre-IFA 2014 event and was set to be released on the fall of 2014.

The phones come bundled with 3-months free download on Sony Music JIVE, three free Hollywood movie downloads from Privilege Movies, and a 3-month BigFlix subscription.

Both devices feature the IP65/68 certification, making them dust- and water-proof much like how the Xperia Z2 was. For the Indian release, Sony said that both phones support 4G LTE for Indian wireless carriers.

The Xperia Z3 has a 5.2-inch Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution screen with Triluminos display and an X-Reality engine, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.5GHz processor, 16/32GB of storage and 3GB of RAM. It also has a 20-megapixel camera which is capable of QHD resolution video recording.

The Xperia Z3 Compact on the other hand almost has the same specs as its bigger counterpart but only with a smaller screen. Instead of a 5.2-inch screen, the compact version has a 4.6-inch 1280 x 720 resolution screen.
