Sony Xperia Z3 Review, Slight Improvements on Xperia Z2 with PS4 Remote Play Compatibility
It's only been six months since the release of the Sony Xperia Z2 and the company has already released a successor to the already successful phone, the Z3. While it's not really an upgrade to the Xperia Z2, it does slightly improve on some of the already good points of the Z2.
The Xperia Z3 was released alongside its tablet and mini-phone family members, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and the Xperia Z3 Compact. It comes in four colors, white, black, copper gold, and silver green, has a slightly smaller profile, an improved camera, and a Sony PS4 Remote Play compatibility.
Even while being an improvement, Xperia Z2 users find little reason to make the switch except for the PS4 Remote Play compatibility, which the Z2 doesn't have. This would be a little troubling considering that Sony might release a Z4 in the next six months, leaving the Z3 with the impression of being outdated.

Design-wise, the millimeter shave off of the thickness may or may not be a huge impact for users but they might feel the difference. While the top and bottom bezels still look a little large, the Xperia Z3 does feel and look like a premium phone.
When it comes to specs, the Z3 and the Z2 aren't really that much different – with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset – but the processor is clocked a little higher than the Z2. The Z3 has a 2.5GHz processor while the Z2 had a 2.3GHz. Both phones also sport the same 3GB RAM.
Again, there's no other reason for Z2 users to make the upgrade except for the fact that the Z3 has the PS4 Remote Play compatibility while the Z2 has none.
