Sony Xperia Z3+ Specs, Release Date: Flagship Handset Overpriced In India?

After launching a so-so flagship in the Xperia Z4 more than a month ago, the Japanese manufacturer has also announced another version of its previous flagship.

Dubbed as the Sony Xperia Z3+, the device packs some upgraded specs, but still does not pack a QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution that almost every other flagship handset has today.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, Sony has launched the device in India in hope of competing well with other high-end devices that are currently in the Asian country's market.

Unfortunately, the flagship Sony device could very be dead on arrival when it becomes available in India. In case you ask, that's because the Sony Xperia Z3+ will reportedly cost a whopping INR 55,990 or about $880 when it becomes available.

In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S6 costs INR 40,000 or around $629, while the LG G4 is priced at INR 45,000 or $707. In case you're checking recent news about these two devices, these are among the best smartphones in the market today in terms of quality and performance.

Nevertheless, the Xperia Z3+ is still a capable handset with its 5.2-inch display, 1080p resolution, 3GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 810 chipset, 32GB of built-in memory, 20.7MP primary camera, a 2,930mAh battery, Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, and a microSD card slot.

But in an Indian market where pricing is among the top considerations of buyers, an overpriced Android flagship may not have a place.
