Sony Xperia Z5 Rumors: Alleged Smartphone Cases Leak Online

What are purported to be Sony Xperia Z5 cases have leaked online, showing the general shape of Sony's new flagship series.

With the IFA 2015 just two weeks down the road, leaked images of what are alleged to be the Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium cases have emerged online, showing cutouts that give an idea of what the new Z series is shaping to look like.

The brightly colored cases in blue, yellow, dark red, pink, white, purple, sky blue, black and baby pink show spaces for the devices' power and lock buttons, the SIM tray, and the camera shutter. Cutouts at the rear of the cases also indicate the space for the camera and its LED flash.

According to rumors, the Xperia Z5 Premium, which is reported to be the Japanese tech giant's high-end model in the Z series, is touted to have a 4K display.

The leaked images of the Z series' cases are just one of the many leaks that have appeared online in the past few months since the mobile industry got wind of Sony's upcoming handsets.

Earlier this month, what reportedly were the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact were outed in images by Twitter leakster @ViziLeaks, featuring the devices' Omnibalance design, as well as easy-grip edges and padded corners on the Z5 Compact.

The images also depicted the phones' micro USB ports, and confirmed a rumor the Z5 will come equipped with a fingerprint scanner located on the handset's side, also doubling as the device's power button.

The Z5 is said to feature a 1080p display, the 4.6-inch Z5 compact will sport a 720p screen, and the 5.5-inch Z5 Premium will come with a 2160p UltraHD display. The three phones will be fitted with a 20MP rear camera equipped with Sony's latest IMX230 sensor.
