Sony Xperia Z6 Lite Release Date & Rumors: Specs Include 5-Inch Display, Snapdragon 650 Chipset, Priced at $385

It hasn't been a year yet since Japanese tech giant Sony launched their Xperia Z5 range of smartphones but they are already rumored to bring in a new line. According to NDTV Gadgets, the electronics company will launch five smartphones under its Xperia Z6 series.

But just recently, reports stated that another one has been added and it is dubbed as the Xperia Z6 Lite.

Android Community detailed that a Chinese website called Mobile-dad revealed that the additional model will be part of the Z6 series. There aren't a lot of details about it yet, but several leaks indicate that the device would be a midrange choice for those who do not wish to spend so much on smartphones.

As noted in Tech 2, the Xperia Z6 Lite is said to have a 5-inch display with a 2.5D curved glass and a metal-made rear cover. It also noted that it will carry a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor. As for the price, the handset is rumored to cost $385, which is approximately Rs 25,500. It is expected to be announced sometime in May, along with the other variants in the Z6 series.

The other rumored variants of the Xperia Z6 series include the 4-inch Xperia Z6 Mini, the 4.6-inch Xperia Z6 Compact, the 5.2-inch Xperia Z6, the 5.8-inch Xperia Z6 Plus and the biggest of all, the 6.4-inch Xperia Z6 Ultra.

There are rumors though that said that the Xperia Z6 Mini has been removed from the list. The report came from a leaked roadmap of T-Mobile Poland. Some sources also said that out of the four devices, two will be given a flagship treatment. Aside from that, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor is expected to run.

As of the moment, there is no confirmation on any of the reports yet. The existence alone of the Xperia Z6 Lite is not yet certain. With that said, it's best to take rumors with a grain of salt and just wait and see what Sony has in store for its avid fans.
