St Louis Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Pirates in Game 4 of their NLDS match up will take place on Monday afternoon, with the Pirates looking to finish things today after taking a 2-1 lead on Sunday in this best of five game series. The game will start at 3.07 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The ball will be thrown to Charlie Morton to try and wrap up the NLDS for the Pirates in front of their home fans on Monday afternoon. Sunday's game saw the Pirates take a 2-1 lead following their 5-3 win in Game 3.
Things were tense for most of the game, with things locked at 2-2 going into the bottom of the sixth inning. A single for the Pirates in the sixth and a single for the Cardinals at the top of the eighth inning say things level at 3-3. However, two runs at the bottom of the eighth completed Pittsburgh's 5-3 victory to give them a commanding 2-1 lead in the series.
Michael Wacha will be looking to level things up at 2-2 tonight for St Louis, and he will know there is no room for any mistakes today. The Cardinals must win two straight games to win through now, anything less will see the Pirates progress in the postseason.
The right-handed Charlie Morton went 7-4 with a 3.26 ERA over 20 starts this season, after missing the first two months of the season after having surgery.
Meanwhile, rookie pitcher Michael Wacha made nine regular season starts and six appearances out of the bullpen. Through those games he went 4-1 with a 2.78 ERA. Over his 64 2/3 innings he allowed only 19 walks and five home runs.
