Stand Up!
"What are you doing down on your face?" (Joshua 7:10 NIV)
Joshua had humbled himself before God. He had laid out his confusion before the Lord and said, "Lord, I just don't understand. This doesn't make any sense." And God said, "Stand up! I'm going to tell you what's going on, but I want you to be ready to take action. So get up off of your face. Get ready to move."
God then proceeded to tell Joshua just exactly why he and Israel were in this predicament. And He told Joshua exactly what had to be done in order to clear up the mess they had gotten themselves into. The people had stolen. They had lied. They had kept some of the plunder from Jericho, blatantly disobeying God's direct order that everything be destroyed. Now God told them He would no longer be with them unless they purged the evil completely. This meant getting the hidden plunder and the people who had taken it, taking the whole lot outside the city, killing the people, burning everything, and piling stones on top of the remains. God was giving them (and us) a very clear picture of His attitude toward disobedience.

God wants us to take the same type of action today... to destroy all the disobedience in our lives. Once we've humbled ourselves before Him, once we've allowed Him to show us what we've done wrong, He wants us to stand up and take action against the disobedience in our lives. Pray for the strength to stand up against the disobedience in your life and for the wisdom to remove it completely.
