Star-Studded Compilation CD Infuses Music with Scripture

Artists from all over the Christian music spectrum have come together to create a unique Scripture-based worship CD which releases today.

Glory Revealed: The Word of God in Worship, brain child of Third Day’s Mac Powell and top evangelist David Nasser, puts together an eclectic mix of worship songs that are reflective of direct Scripture.

“The glory of God is best revealed through His Word,” explains Nasser on the album’s website. “When we begin to dig into the pages of the Bible, we will begin to see His glory revealed.”

The project has a variety of styles including folk, rock, country, bluegrass and more, yet all of them having an acoustic guitar sound.

Powell and Nasser were able to bring a lot of friends to the project who are also Christian music’s top artists.

Singers include Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Brian Littrell from the Backstreet Boys, Mark Hall from Casting Crowns, Trevor Morgan, Shawn Lewis from Hyper Static Union, David Crowder, Shane & Shane, Candi Pearson-Shelton, Josh Bates and Tim Neufeld of Starfield.

The goal of the project was to bring people back to the Word of God rather than simply playing music. The visionaries wanted it to become the fabric of people’s lives.

"It all kind of started with the Holy Spirit putting in my heart a passion to call a generation back to God's Word," states Nasser on the website. "We believe that God's Word has in it great revelation and that God's glory is revealed through the Bible."

The two producers also wanted to make the songs stick in people’s hearts.

"What we really wanted from this album was to have songs that people could listen to and enjoy, but also have lyrics you could memorize easily," notes Powell in the website. "While we were making this record, I was playing a couple of songs for my family in the car and after about two or three times of hearing these songs, my little girl, Scout, who is seven-years-old, was singing these songs to me.”

“This is scripture in her heart that she has learned just from singing songs a few times,” he adds, “so this is a powerful tool to be able to not only enjoy the music, but to have that scripture memorized."

The artists involved also share the same sentiment.

“I think it’s going to bring families together,” explained Christian solo artist Brian Littrell in CMSpin. “It’s not just a wonderful project, but it’s also educational. Because the songs are directly from Scripture, it’s a way to be educated about biblical terms and understanding what Jesus and others went through.”

The song titles, scripture references, and artists are as follows:

1. “He Will Rejoice” (Zephaniah 3:17) - Trevor Morgan
2. “By His Wounds” (Isaiah 53:5) - Third Day's Mac Powell, Steven Curtis Chapman, Brian Littrell and Casting Crowns' Mark Hall
