'Star Wars Rebels' Season 4 Release Date, News: Sabine to Lead Mandalorians to Their Homeworld; New Trailer for Upcoming Season Launched

Next week, "Star Wars Rebels" will return for its fourth and final season.

Taking place a few years before the events of "Star Wars: A New Hope," the story of the animated series is almost complete, and all the blanks would have been filled by the end of the final season.

Ahead of the season premiere, a new set of images from the animated series has rolled out, which tease the alliance between the Ghost crew and the Mandalorians. These also show various scenes in the coming episodes, including one of Sabine (Tiya Sircar) fiercely wielding the Darksaber, hinting that she has evolved into a great warrior and leader.

According to spoilers from Collider, in this premiere episode of "Star Wars Rebels" season 4, Sabine is going to lead Ezra (Taylor Gray) and Kanan (Freddie Prinze Jr.), as well as her fellow Mandalorians, back to Mandalore, her homeworld. They are going to rescue her father, who had been held captive by the Galactic Empire after she fled the Imperial Academy of Mandalore.

However, as she finds out that the Empire has revived an old, extremely deadly weapon, she will be left with a dilemma on whether she should destroy it or use the said weapon to defeat the tyrannical government.

A new exclusive clip featuring the meeting between Sabine and Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff), a former member of the Death Watch, is posted on IGN. The said character has been missing in action for quite a while now, and this will be her much-awaited return.

"Star Wars Rebels" season 4 premieres Monday, Oct. 16, at 12:30 a.m. ET on Disney XD.

Lucasfilm has also released a video recap of seasons 1 to 3 for the fans who would like to refresh their memories on what has already happened in the series before the new season starts.

The highlights in the series, so far, include the duel between Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) and Darth Vader (James Earl Jones), and the final showdown of Darth Maul (Sam Witwer) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (James Arnold Taylor).
