In some aspects, PC players can be considered lucky as they are not caught in what the gaming community knows as the console wars. Aside from possibly getting titles from both sides, they consistently get discounts, and this weekend the whole "Resident Evil" franchise goes on sale on Steam.

For the whole weekend until today at 10 a.m. PT, all titles coming from the vast "Resident Evil" saga can be purchased at a discounted rate. From the very first installment to the critically acclaimed "Resident Evil VII: Biohazard," each title's price is trimmed down for a limited time.

As far as the sale goes, "Resident Evil Revelations 2" gets the biggest markdown, carrying a whopping 87 percent discount. Even the latest addition to the series which is also making it big in the virtual reality (VR) world "Resident Evil VII" gets a discount as early as now, at 25 percent.

The said sale is definitely nothing to scoff about. For the horror/survival junkie, the "Resident Evil" franchise is a definite mainstay and has achieved its illustrious status of being a household name. It was one of the few which started a revolution in the gaming experience, and it continues to endure until this day.

As for the newest title under its belt, it continues to be a worldwide sensation for gamers who love the genre. In a statement, Capcom has announced that as early as Feb. 1, it has already recouped its development cost and has even shipped three million copies as of Feb. 10. This goes to show that the purchase is definitely going to be worth it, and given the big discounts, it is going to be a treat.

The Steam Weekend Deal for the franchise ends at 10 a.m. PT today, so interested players will need to download the game before the deal is up.
