Steve Jobs Biopic Movie Cast News, Update: Actress Natalie Portman In Talks to Join
The project for the anticipated Steve Jobs biopic film may have been passed around from Sony to Universal, and the names of its leading men were changed from Christian Bale to Michael Fassbender, but the movie is still pushing forward for its fruition.
Recent news indicates that Academy Award winner Natalie Portman is now in talks to join the cast member's list in the biopic film, according to Variety.com.
The cast news came out following a report of Universal Studios getting the distributorship deal from Sony Pictures.
Although the details for the "Black Swan" star's character were still not revealed, Deadline speculated that it would be a major role – most probably a female lead role.
The Harvard graduate recently completed her first directorial gig for the Amos Oz's memoir film adaptation titled "A Tale of Love and Darkness." She is, as reported by ComingSoon.net, also expected to reprise her role as Jane Foster in the Chris Helmsworth-led "Thor" film sequel coming out in 2017.
Opposite her is "X-Men: Days of Future Past" actor Michael Fassbender to play the genius behind the Cupertino-based tech company, Apple, Inc.
Penned by Aaron Sorkin for the screen, the currently untitled Jobs movie will be an adaptation of Walter Isaacson's biography novel titled "Steve Jobs."
Scott Rudin, Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady will be producing the film with Universal planning to kick off the production phase in an "early spring date."
