Steve Jobs is Big Money as People Cash In On the Iconic Figure

Steve Jobs revolutionized the tech-world during his life, but Jobs also is helping people make a quick buck from sales posthumously.

The eyeglasses worn by Jobs on the cover of Walter Isaacson’s biography are being marketed and sold in Hong Kong, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Eyewear distributor Power Bloom is marketing the rimless glasses by showing a photo of Jobs wearing the glasses at display booths, according to reports.

The glasses aren’t the only item to rely on Jobs’ popularity posthumously, though.

Isaacson’s biography of Jobs topped bestseller lists in its first week in book stores, the L.A. Times reported.

The book, which came out Oct. 24, has sold more than 350,000 copies, according to Nielsen’s BookScan.

A previously unreleased interview featuring Jobs is scheduled to be screened in theaters nationwide in mid-November.

The film, known as “Steve Jobs: The Lost Interviews,” was originally taped in 1995 and runs for 70 minutes, according to reports.

The full interview conducted by Robert Cringely was thought to be lost in 1996. A copy of the tape was made, though, and kept by Paul Sen, the director of the series.

Sen dug the copy out of storage after Jobs’ death in October and suggested Cringely post it on his blog for people to view for free, the L.A. Times reported.

"He didn't see any commercial value in it," Cringely told the L.A. Times. "I have three kids I have to put through college, so I thought maybe we could sell it."

It is unclear how many other products are using Jobs in their marketing.
