Steve Jobs Movie News, Cast Update: Studio Begins Shooting, Cast Revealed

Despite the many challenges that the reported Steve Jobs biopic went through over the years, the anticipated picture which will showcase the life of the brain behind the iMac and iPhone is now pushing through with these newly announced names and details of the story.

Slashfilm reported that Universal, who picked up the project after Sony dropped out, has already begun shooting the scenes for the film titled "Steve Jobs" in San Francisco.

"Slumdog Millionaire" helmer Danny Boyle is directing the movie based from the script written by Aaron Sorkin who in turn adapted the Jobs authorized biography by Walter Isaacson.

Playing the "tech innovator" is "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and "Prometheus" star Michael Fassbender. Appearing with him is "The Interview" actor and writer Seth Rogen as the Cupertino-based tech company co-founder Steve Wozniak.

The film will also feature actors Kate Winslet, Jeff Daniels, Katherine Waterson and Michael Stuhlbarg for supporting roles.

As stated by Universal, the upcoming big screen offering will focus on the three particular major product launches which took place in Jobs life. The events will start off with the unveiling of the original Mac, followed by the NEXT cube computer, and will culminate with the outing of the first iMac in 1998.

"The film takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter," the studio said in their press release.
