Stevie Wonder, 62-year-old musician, is apologizing for his comments about homosexual people being confused.

Wonder was recently questioned about singer-songwriter Frank Ocean being open about his homosexuality in an interview with the Guardian. While Wonder said he did not feel all gay people were confused, he seemed to insinuate that some of them were confusing their bond for love.

"I think honestly, some people who think they're gay, they're confused. People can misconstrue closeness for love," Wonder said. "People can feel connected, they bond. I'm not saying all [gay people are confused]. Some people have a desire to be with the same sex. But that's them."

However, Wonder decided to clarify his comments after being interviewed by LGBT publication the Advocate on Saturday.

"No one has been a greater advocate for the power of love in this world than I; both in my life and in my music. Clearly, love is love, between a man and a woman, a woman and a man, a woman and a woman and a man and a man," Wonder said. "What I'm not confused about is the world needing much more love, no hate, no prejudice, no bigotry and more unity, peace and understanding. Period."

However, homosexuality was not the only topic of conversation for the renowned musician. Wonder opened up to the Guardian about God saving his life in a 1973 car crash that left him with serious injuries.

"It was on August 6 that I almost died in that car accident. It was also on August 6 – 1988 – that my son Kwame was born," Wonder shared. "Life is funny. "But I was blessed to come out of it. God gave me life to continue to do things that I would never have done."
