Following two months of pre-production, "Suicide Squad" will shoot from April until September within the city's vicinity.

As for the casting, THR added that "Smith will play Deadshot." The character is best known as one of Batman's hard hitting enemies. Tom Hardy "plays the group's leader, Rick Flagg."

Leto, whose name has been a mainstay in the rumor mills for quite some time, will now "take on the Joker." Robbie, will be Harley Quinn, the "on-and-off girlfriend" of the Dark Knight's nemesis.

Courtney will play the part of Boomerang and Delevingne will be the sorceress Enchantress.

As already known, David Ayer will be penning the script and will be the one sitting on the helmer's chair. Also behind the camera are Charles Roven and Richard Suckle as producers. Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder will be the project's executive producers.

"We look forward to seeing this terrific ensemble, under Ayer's amazing guidance, give new meaning to what it means to be a villain and what it means to be a hero," WB's President for Creative Development and Worldwide Production said about Ayer during the official announcement.
