Super Bowl XLVI to Feature Samsung Galaxy Note Advertisement

Samsung plans to launch the long awaited tablet/smartphone hybrid the Galaxy Note on Feb. 5 and it will use to the Super Bowl to stir up a buzz for the device by airing a commercial during the game.

America's most popular sporting event will feature a commercial advertizing the Samsung Galaxy Note during the fourth quarter of the big game where the New York Giants and New England Patriots will face off on Feb. 5.

The ad is set to be 90 seconds long and will air on the same day that the handset will become available for pre-order. This will also be Samsung's first advertisement to air during the Super Bowl. It was directed by Bobby Farrelly of who also created popular films such as "There's Something About Mary" and "Dumb and Dumber."

It will continue Samsung's competitive push against other smartphone creators such as Apple, according to tech site 9to5 Google. These ads feature users of the Samsung Galaxy S2 taunting campers awaiting the launch of the next iPhone. Samsung also created a Facebook page with images dedicated to taking jabs at Apple's device deeming it "old school" placing it next to a cell phone from the 1980s.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is in a league of its own featuring a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED display. It has the portability of a smartphone with the power of a tablet, according to the company.

Other specs include a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Android 2.3, Gingerbread OS, 16GB of internal memory, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera, a 2500 mAh battery, Bluetooth and a slot for a microSD to expand the memory up to 32GB.

The device will be released in the U.S. through AT&T officially on Feb. 6 and will be available with a two-year upgrade for $300.
