Super Smash Bros 4 Characters: Male Wii Fit Trainer Added to Roster as Alternate for Female Trainer? (PICTURE)

Super Smash Bros 4 director Masahiro Sakurai hinted at a new character being in the upcoming game yesterday when he released the "Pic of the Day."

Technically speaking, the character is already in the game, it is just an alternate version. The Female Wii Fit trainer was a confirmed character in the game and now in the new screenshot it shows a Male Wii Fit trainer as well.

The two are seen together in one of the levels suggesting his involvement with the game. More than likely the main player to select is the female with the alternate costume being the male version. Usually there are a variety of different colors and costumes characters wear, and in this case it is just changing the gender.

"Pic of the day. The trial version of Wii Fit U is available now! We'd like to share this pic to commemorate the occasion," said Sakurai in the photo that can be seen here.

This will be the Wii Fit Trainer's first time in the SSB series after gaining popularity with Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus for the Wii.

Sakurai recently revealed another picture from the upcoming game, and this shot shows off the differences between Link and Toon Link's spin attacks.

"Pic of the day. The graphical differences of the Spin Attacks are clear. The way they hit are actually very different too," Sakurai posted to the Miiverse.

The spin attack is Link's signature move in the series. With the attack, he jumps in the air and does a 360 while horizontally swinging his sword. The move can also be an extension of his jump.

Toon Link's sword swing looks a bit sharper and jagged and has a green hue to it. Link's is smoother and even, and has a swirly effect to it.

See a picture of it here.

This will be the first time the series comes to a handheld system, the 3DS as well as the Wii U in early 2014.
