Nintendo's "Super Smash Bros. 4" is now facing an October 3 release date. Before that day comes, the company is still steadily updating its character roster. A bunch of other characters are still unconfirmed but it looks like three new characters have definitely been added.
According to latest reports, two characters from the "Fire Emblem" franchise are making their debut in the "Super Smash Bros." game. One of the characters is Lucina, a main character in the "Fire Emblem: Awakening" game. According to her bio, she is the future daughter of Chrom, who travels back in time from a distraught future to save her family and friends.
Lucina has very similar move sets to the character Marth following the lore of the game. The moves of the two characters, however, have different properties in terms of speed and power. Marth's sword is more powerful at the tip while Lucina's is distributed throughout the blade. This makes them different characters despite having similar moves and attacks.
The other character from the "Fire Emblem" franchise is Robin, the player's avatar. Lore-wise, Robin is a master tactician brilliant in the use of swords and sorcery. In "Super Smash Bros 4" Robin has two costumes; a male and female form.
The last of the newly included characters on the roster is Captain Falcon. Previously before his inclusion, Captain Falcon was an unconfirmed character, but it seems that Nintendo has finally decided to give official go-ahead to include him in the roster. Captain Falcon comes from the "F-Zero" game universe and is the only character in that franchise.
There are still rumored characters that could have a place in the roster like Ness from the "Earthbound" universe, Mr. Game and Watch from the "Game and Watch" universe, and Meta Knight from the "Kirby" universe.
