Tuesday's Nintendo Direct conference was exclusively about Super Smash Bros 4 and game developer Masahiro Sakurai revealed a ton of new information about the upcoming game, including its release date.
Sakurai announced the 3DS version will be arriving first in the summer, while the Wii U version can be expected this winter. He then broke down the differences between the two in graphics, stages, and gameplay.
Five characters were also added to the game as well. Returning to the franchise is Yoshi, Charizard, and Sheik. The later two were recently part of other characters - Zelda transforms into Sheik. Charizard was part of the Pokemon trainer character, and could also be replaced by Squirtle and Ivysaur. Zero Suit Samus is also making a return as well, and she will be new and improved.
Pokemon X and Y's starter, Greninja, will be making his first appearance in the game, and is the third evolved form of Froakie.
A slew of Assist Trophies were also showed off, including Mother Brain, Waluigi, Ashley, Lyn, Chain Chomp, and More. These often are showcased during the Pic of the Week sessions, and are sometimes mistaken for new roster additions.
This was the biggest day in SSB4 news so far, and now gamers are left wondering what else is coming and who else they could possibly add. See the Nintendo Direct episode here.
