Super Smash Bros 4 to Feature Nintendogs and Cats

The upcoming Super Smash Bros 4 games will feature appearances by the Nintendogs and cats.

A feline showed up in a picture posted by the game's director Masahiro Sakurai earlier today on his MiiVerse.

"We have Nintendogs plus cats! How could we forget them!! Just FYI, there are about five dog breeds in this game. This was me, reporting from the 3DS-exclusive stage, Living Room," wrote Sakurai.

Another picture from earlier this week showed the character Robin launching a special attack.

"The way Robin launches Arcfire is kind of crazy he or she calls down a bolt of flame from above, then launches a pillar of fire! By the way, Robins to me changes with each special attack," he said.

Nintendo announced the addition of four new fighters to the Super Smash Bros 4 character line-up earlier this week.

The game will feature vet Captain Falcon and Fire Emblem stars Lucina Chrom and Robin. There will be both male and female versions of Robin. The gaming company announced the new characters in a brand new video where some of them can be seen in action. See it here. The last fighter to be added to the roster before them was Pac-Man. It now has 37 characters altogether.

The new Smash Bros. games be released for both the Wii U and 3DS later this year. These will be the first official sequels to the Super Smash Bros Brawl which launched on the original Wii in 2008. Nintendo confirmed to IGN in May that the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros will launch sometime in the summer this year. Wii U fans will have to wait until the winter to get their hands on this epic fighting title.
