'Super Smash Bros. 4' Characters Rumors: Will Add More Characters in the Game

Rumors are speculating that "Super Smash Bros. 4" will add more characters, according to reports.

Master Herald said that a leak has revealed that the hit Nintendo game will have additional game characters that will be available via downloadable content, or DLC. Yibada also posted a report saying that there appears to be three new vacant character slots in the game. These character slots were discovered by a data miner after the last update on Nintendo Wii U and 3Ds, which is the 1.1.1 patch.

If the rumors were true, then fans might get to see the Shovel Knight as one of the new characters to be added in the game. Rumors of the Shovel Knight being added to the game have been ongoing for a while now, and the leak gave fans hope that the character will finally make its way to the game soon.

Professor Layton, from the puzzle-adventure game series "Professor Layton," is also said to appear in the game. The puzzle-solving character has also been rumored to join "Super Smash Bros. 4" for quite some time now, according to Day Herald.

A number of screenshots showing several changes that may be included in the game were released, and it includes a new stage from 'Runbow', which is a popular platform game on Wii U. Another screenshot also shows new costumes for MII that in-game characters can wear once the rumored update rolls out. Among these characters that are rumored to have wardrobe update are Chibi, Magnus, Crystal, Shantae, and Robo.

"Super Mario Bros. 4" has recently released other new characters like Ryu from the "Street Fighter" games, Roy from the "Fire Emblem" series, and Lucas from the "Mother 3" game.

Other updates that were also included in the 1.1.1 patch are the "Pirate Ship" stage, and the "Super Mario Maker," which is a new stage maker.
