'Supergirl' Season 1 Episode 14 News: Show Riding High As Most-Watched on CBS Last Monday

"Supergirl" came out on top again in the ratings game last Monday.

According to TV By The Numbers, "Supergirl" was watched by 8.01 million viewers, and got a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 audience demographics. The website added that the show keeps improving, with 0.3 rating growth each week. The ultimate winners last Monday are Fox's "The X-Files" and ABC's "The Bachelor."

It's not a surprise why the last episode of "Supergirl" got a lot of viewership, since the story highlighted the "what ifs" in Kara's (Melissa Benoist) life. According to Entertainment Weekly, an alien parasite called Black Mercy attacked Kara that made her have a realistic hallucination. She was saved by her sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), and Kara made a vow to make Non (Chris Vance) pay for making her lose her family all over again.

Another reason why the 13th episode was a hit among viewers is because of Astra's (Laura Benani) death. The show's executive producer, Andrew Kreisberg, said that the death of Kara's aunt will weigh heavily on her shoulders. "Kara believes in the inherent goodness of people," Kreisberg said. "She thinks that deep down her aunt was more misguided than evil, and if she had more time, she could have brought her back into the light," he added. Fans are definitely looking forward to see more drama in Kara's life in the upcoming episodes of the show.

On the other hand, Spoilers Guide posted the official synopsis of the next episode, and it reads, "Supergirl does battle with the deadly Master Jailer (Jeff Branson), who is hunting and executing escaped Fort Rozz prisoners. Also, Cat hires a second assistant, Siobhan Smythe (Italia Ricci), who immediately tries to one-up Kara, and Kara and James disagree over the DEO's methods."

"Supergirl" season 1 episode 14 was directed by Lexi Alexander, and the story was written by Yahlin Chang and Caitlin Parrish.

Watch "Supergirl" every Monday on CBS.
