'Supergirl' Season 2 Episode 16: Lyra Gets Winn in Trouble With Authorities

Keeping secrets from the one you love does not usually end well. Such was the case for Mon-El (Chris Wood) and Kara (Melissa Benoist) and in the next episode of "Supergirl" season 2, it will prove true to Winn (Jeremy Jordan) and Lyra (Tamzin Merchant).

The couple has so far been doing great, but this will change in episode 16, "Distant Sun." Jordan himself teased to TVLine that his character will discover a secret Lyra has been keeping from him.

"Winn is feeling very deceived by Lyra, somebody he's put his full trust in and fallen very fast and very hard for," the actor explained.

"It goes down a pretty dark path. Winn and Lyra's future is definitely up in the air after this big deception," Jordan went on to say of the couple's future in "Supergirl" season 2.

Episode 16 will see Lyra get Winn in trouble with the law. It turns out that his girlfriend from outer space has committed a crime that not even he saw coming.

This leads to Maggie (Floriana Lima) to work with them in "Supergirl" season 2, episode 16. Unfortunately, the synopsis teases that she fails to help them.

Apart from this, Lyra's betrayal actually allowed Winn to find a connection with Kara, who also feels betrayed after learning Mon-El was the prince of Daxam all along.

This gives the two a special moment in the story especially since they have not had such in a long time after Winn kissed her in the first season of "Supergirl."

Talking about his character's evolution over the course of the series, Jordan said that Winn has definitely "grown up a lot."

"He went from this goofy, kind of scatterbrained, scared kid to someone who has a lot of confidence and has become much more grounded — a source of humanity for a lot of our characters who need a reality check," he explained.

"Supergirl" season 2, episode 16, "Distant Sun," airs Monday, March 27, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
