'Supernatural' Season 12; News and Updates, Rick Sprigfield as Lucifer, Cast, Teaser Trailer Revealed at Comic Con

"Supernatural" season 12 will premiere on the CW on October 12, 2016. There is a lot to look forward to in this exciting series. In fact in the latest Comic Con 2016 panel, producers of the series announced that musician Rick Springfield is joining the show as one of the new vessels of Lucifer.

In the 11the season of the series, Lucifer used Castiel's (Misha Collins) body as his vessel and this time he wants to use a different one. In fact, last season showed how Lucifer got what he wanted - being face-to-face with God (Rob Benedict). Now he is out and on the break and wants to have fun.

Lucifer in the previous season was portrayed by Mark Pellegrino and he was definitely raising hell. This season, Lucifer will be using a different body to do what he needs to do. Furthermore, Robert Singer has reported that the first vessel that Lucifer needs is a rockstar whose career is on the edge. After leaving Castiel's body, he wants a new rock-and-roll body to call his home.

Singer also added that the rock star body which Lucifer will choose will be of Vince Vicente who is portrayed by Rick Springfield.

Rick Springfield even shared a post from his Twitter account on being Lucifer. Here in the 12th season, the devil will face new adventures with "Affairs of the Heart." Springfield will play as Lucifer in the first few episode of "Supernatural" Season 12.

Executive producer, Andrew Dabb also stated that they wanted to get an authentic rock star at the same time someone who can act out the role well.

Teaser Trailer Revealed

Aside from the new Lucifer for Supernatural's 12th season, the panel also revealed a teaser for the season's trailer. It shows the return of the Winchester's mother. Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) spends time with Dean (Jensen Ackles) while Sam (Jared Padalecki) is not around since he has been missing. The rtrailer also ends with a chilling message from Mary saying; "I never wanted this for you and Sam, come home."

While Sam is believed to be missing, the panel also noted that he is still alive. In this season of the Supernatural series, the younger Winchester is held captive by the Men of Letters. As the series will premiere its season 12, he definitely needs to be rescued from where he might be.

"Supernatural "will kick in with more hunting adventures from Dean while Sam is still missing this fall.
