Mary Winchester Is Back
Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) has been resurrected and will reunite with her boys this season. In the upcoming season, Dean and Sam will find out that Mary was also a hunter herself. After marrying John Winchester (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), she decided to settle down and stop hunting. She did it to live in peace with her boys. However, even when she stopped being a hunter, John continued to be one.

The effect of Mary's death which led her sons to become hunters as well has been haunting her. This will be very hard for Mary to handle.
In a report, Ackles shared that the reunion with his character's mother will be challenging. For both of them, adjusting to each other will be very difficult. According to him, the hardest part would be knowing Mary as their mother, but at the same time, she has become a stranger to them.
Padalecki also shared that their characters became hunters because of Mary. He noted that the hunters were the Campbells, not the Winchesters. It can be expected that Sam will blame their mother for their hunting abilities.
Season 12 will bring out a lot of revelations for the Winchester family. Aside from being with their mother again, Sam will also be missing. This will give Dean the mission to find and save him. It is also possible that Dean and his mom will look together for Sam.
More Characters and Revelations
On the other hand, the show will also be bringing more characters in it. One of them will be a new vessel for Lucifer to bring challenges for the brothers. Lucifer will be using a rock icon played by Rick Springfield.
