Speaking with TVGuide, Marano shared her opinion about the controversial segment.

"I think (the episode) is going to stir up a lot of conversation -- positive, possibly, and probably negative. But what was really important to us, was to stir up a conversation," she said.

Show creator Lizzy Weiss meanwhile explained that this topic should nonetheless be discussed as it is already timely for the girls.

"Our girls are now in college ... It is the no. 1 conversation on campuses right now. How do we not do a story in which one of the girls deals with campus assault?" Weiss said. "It's really focused on the question of consent. ... Do you need explicit consent, and how drunk is too drunk to get that?"

In tonight's episode, spoiler reports pointed out Bay trying to pick up the pieces and is now considering the options she had to take to pursue her art career.

A synopsis from The Futon Critic reads:

"Bay tries to figure out how she can pursue an art career. Regina invites Eric (guest star Terrell Tilford, "The Young and the Restless") and his son to stay with her temporarily. Mingo (guest star Adam Hagenbuch, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower") asks Daphne to hang out. Meanwhile, Kathryn offers to help Travis with his English."

"Switched at Birth" Season 4 episode 8 titled "Art Like Love is Dedication" airs this Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 9 p.m. on ABC Family.
