Syracuse Orange vs Michigan Wolverines takes place in the NCAA 2013 Final Four round on Saturday night. This will be the second of the two Final Four March Madness games taking place today and will decide who will play either Louisville or Wichita in the Championship Game on Monday. The game is scheduled to tip off at 8.49 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
Some have billed this has been a match up between the 2-3 zoned Syracuse defense and the high tempo Michigan offense.
Fo Michigan it is their first Final Four appearance since two decades, with the last time they reached this stage of the NCAA being 1993.
This match up could go either way with both teams being seeded in the No. 4 spot for the tournament.
Trey Burke has been huge in the regional finals, leading the Wolverines to make a comeback from 14 points down against Kansas with less than 7 minutes of the game remaining. Burke hit a long three-pointer at the end of regulation to tie the game, then completed the comeback to down the top-seeded Jayhawks in overtime.
However, today against Syracuse they will need contributions all around and Tim Hardaway, Jr. and Nik Stauskas will be two players that need to step up and deliver along with Burke. In addition, Glenn Robinson III and freshman Mitch McGary must play the paint and post well should open shots be taken away.
Syracuse on the other other hand will believe they can take down Michigan tonight. They closed the regular season with four losses over their final five games, but they have stormed back into form in the NCAA tournament.
Michael Carter-Williams is averaging 13 points, 4.8 assists and 5.8 rebounds during the NCAA tournament, and some have touted the game to be a match up between Carter-Williams and Burke.
