Last year Fab Melo was suspended due to academic issues, and a shadow has been cast over Syracuse basketball this year with the entire basketball program being put under the microscope.
According to CBS Sports, the Syracuse basketball program has been under NCAA investigation for a number of years, and although the report did not go into specific allegations, it did claim that there were several potential NCAA violations being investigated.
The source told CBS Sports: "Throw a dart at the [NCAA] Manual [and you would hit a violation by Syracuse]."
However, head coacg Jim Boeheim has said that they will ignore the controversy for now, and focus at the task at hand. He has insisted that their only consideration right now is this game against Montana.
No. 4 seeded Syracuse will have to get past No. 13 seeds Montana in San Jose tonight in that last of Thursday's games in the NCAA.
The winner of the game will go on to face off against the winner of the match between UNLV and California. That match up between the No. 5 and No. 12 seeds will take place on Thursday night as well.
