In the second game, Montreal started off well with Jeff Petry scoring his first goal of the playoffs in only the 7:20 mark of the first period. However, it was leveled with a Valtteri Filppula power-play goal at the dying seconds of the period. From there, the Lightning grabbed hold of the game with three goals in the second period, two of those were power-play goals with Steven Stamkos, Kucherov and Victor Hedman beating Carey Price.

Kucherov continued his scoring onslaught with another power-play goal in the third to give t hem a 5-1 lead, before Tom Gilbert stopped Monteral's bleeding with a consolation goal. J.T. Brown put the finishing touches in the 17th minute of the last period to eventually help with the game for Tampa Bay 6-2.

Another win for Tampa Bay places them in a dominating position where they will only need one more win out of the last four games to move on, while Montreal will need to win four straight to continue their season.
