Young fans eager to download and listen to the new mixtape by Wiz Khalifa had to wait even longer after the site providing the download crashed.
Wiz Khalifa's free mixtape titled Taylor Allderdice was available for download on Tuesday. The title of the mixtape comes from the Pittsburgh high school that Khalifa attended.
The free mixtape became available for fans just before 9 p.m. at around the same time that Khalifa posted a link to the website DatPiff.com on his Twitter account.
There was such wide anticipation for the mixtape that soon after the tweet was posted the DatPiff.com site crashed.
Khalifa, apparently proud of the fact that his eager fans showed up in numbers for the new tracks took to Twitter to explain what they had done: "Yea Taylors, We Crashed That S---!!!"
The website DatPiff.com is up and running as of Wednesday, but the page still loads slowly as fans continued to download the mixtape.
Taylor Allderdice features collaborations with Rick Ross, Taylor Gang members Chevy Woods and Juicy J, as well as Khalfia's new fiancée, model Amber Rose, who sings on one of the tracks, according to MTV.
This has been one of the most anticipated mixtapes of the year. Khalifa got an early push of publicity after a low-key New York City listening session on Feb. 26 by Rapfix.
In addition to songs like "Mary 3X" and "Morocco," there are plenty of artist that appear on the mixtape. Amber Rose joins Rick Ross on the track "Never Been Part II."
According to reports Khalifa is currently working on a new studio album. Recently, Wiz Khalifa revealed that he would collaborate with Harlem rapper Cam'ron for his upcoming album.
"I've been waiting for that collaboration forever," Khalifa told Hard Knock TV. Cam'ron is one of several artists that will appear on his second album, O.N.I.F.C., which is scheduled to come out later this year.
