Taylor Swift New Album 2014 Title '1989'; 'Shake It Off' Video Premieres (WATCH)

Official news on Taylor Swift's fifth studio album is finally announced. The big reveal was made on a Yahoo! Livestream show which was co-sponsored by ABC News.

Taylor's newest album will be called 1989, the artist's year of birth. According to The Wire, the title is suggestive to the singer's shift of musical style, from country to 1980s pop.

During the live video stream, the 24-year-old icon said that two years later after the release of her last album Red, she was able to recognize the need for a change in her style.

"I woke up every single day that I was making this record, not wanting but needing to make a new style of music than what I had ever made before," Taylor said during the live stream. "Essentially what ended up happening is we made the most sonically cohesive album I've ever made. I made my favorite album I've ever made."

The '80s pop era has greatly inspired the creative process that she went through for 1989. She referred to the era as "bold" and already "ahead of its time."

The livestream lasted for over 30 minutes and it includes Taylor playing her new song "Shake It Off" and danced along with it. The music video provided below, was directed by Mark Romanek. It portrays the pop star exploring and performing a wide variety of dance styles which include ballet, modern dance, isolation, and many more.

Taylor Swift's LP is scheduled to drop this coming Oct. 27 via Big Machine Records. The cover is a Polariod-inspired album art.

Deluxe version of 1989 will include three bonus tracks which, as Billboard.com revealed, are actually voice memos from Swift's phone that are stylized into actual songs.
