Now you too can ride to glory on the back of Tebow – in a saddle, that is.

The people behind Little Red Feather thoroughbred racing named one of their horses after the latest craze inspired by Tim Tebow: “Tebowing.”

In an email to Larry Brown, a sports blogger, Billy Koch, the founder of the organization, wrote, “We are so mesmerized by Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow and the latest craze ‘Tebowing’ that we decided to rename our Fusaichi Pegasus filly TEBOWING.” Brown posted the email on his blog, larrybrownsports.com, on Wednesday.

Koch, who described himself as a huge sports fan, said he named the horse on Monday; he’s been following the latest Tebow trend. Even though he said he is not necessarily a Tebow fan, Koch thought that the trend would be a great name for a horse.

“Our response has been polarizing,” Koch told Brown. “A bunch of people want to go in, and a bunch of people said they would never go in on that.”

The email explained that Tebowing is a daughter of 2000 Kentucky Derby Winner, Fusaichi Pegasus, who sired many big-time stakes winners like Roman Ruler, Champ Pegasus, and Australian champion Haradasun. “Since 2002, Fu Peg’s progeny have earned over $52M!” the message proclaims.

The owners note, “The syndication price INCLUDES all expenses through December 31, 2011. In addition, if you invest before November 30th and send us a picture of yourself Tebowing we will knock 5% off the initial share price.”

A jersey has yet to be created for the horse.

“My whole goal is to get people into horse racing. If naming the horse Tebowing gets people into racing, it’s worth it,” Koch said.
