Tech News: Apple's Star of the March 21 Event and Other Expected Announcements

On Monday, Apple will host what could be this year's biggest product event and as fans already know, the unofficial but highly anticipated iPhone SE will be unveiled, along with updates on other devices.

Over the past months, it seems consumers have become less and less interested in smartphones, especially with the recent release of tablets and other gadgets in the market. While Apple is still one of the top tech giants around the world, the market seems to be holding down its excitement on upcoming phones.

According to CNET, the release of the so-called iPhone SE is expected to boost the interest of fans who may be getting tired of the series as the upcoming device is launching as a smaller and cheaper version of the bigger iPhones.

The outlet further explains that the new device will be similar in design to the 5S but will sport specs that consumers know are installed in the 6S, meaning it could most probably feature 3D Touch and other famed specs in the 6S model.

Cult of Mac also says the SE is expected to boast the same camera on the iPhone 6 which sports a powerful 12-megapixel sensor. For the budget-wise user, a 12MP camera phone doesn't go anywhere near the price tags of other smartphones with the same camera quality.

Experts are expecting that Apple will be more lenient when it comes to pricing as earlier reports suggested that the SE will be cheaper. While the most hoped-for tag is at $350, some estimate that it would be priced the same as the 5S, which is at $450.

Meanwhile, it is also expected that Apple will announce the specs of the new iPad Pro, which is expected to come at only 9.7 inches, a figure which is almost the same as the iPad Air 2.

Finally, there is buzz around the internet that the next Apple Watch won't be unveiled during the month's big day. Some believe that it will be introduced in September.

The tech giant will hold the event at its Cupertino, California office, at 10 AM on March 21, 2016.
