Just several weeks after media reports broke that "Teen Mom 2" star Leah Messer was pregnant with twins, the young mother reportedly had a miscarriage.
Messer, 19, already the mother of twin daughters with her ex-husband Corey Simms, was expecting another pair with fiancé Jeremy Calvert.
"It's a devastating experience, but all I can do is support Leah and take things day by day," Calvert told OK! magazine. "It's hard, but we will get through it."
Messer was at her mother's home on a Saturday afternoon when she lost the baby, OK! reported.
"She was having extreme pain to the point where she couldn't get out of bed," a source told the magazine. "Leah knew something was happening. She was bleeding and had body aches."
"I'm a Survivor," Messer tweeted earlier this week.
Followers of the reality star also tweeted their support for Messer's loss.
"I'm inspired by @TM2LeahDawn (Leah). She has been thru so much but still keeps her head high for her children," one person wrote.
"Gotta agree! She is a great mom!" another follower tweeted back.
When news first broke of the second pregnancy, Calvert was elated.
"Yes, Leah is having my baby!" Calvert told Reality Weekly. "I was at work when Leah called to tell me. She'd gotten blood work done and it came back positive. At first I was kind of surprised- but I was happy."
Calvert and Messer are "absolutely thrilled" about the pregnancy, a source told In Touch.
"She thinks the babies will help her get her own spin-off show," the source said. "And that means a much bigger salary! She wants her own series and her own brand, just like Kate Gosselin!"
Messer had a troublesome pregnancy with her first pair of twins. She went into labor after six months of carrying her girls and was bedridden for some time after. One daughter, Aliannah, suffered from developmental problems as a result of the difficulties.
