'Teen Wolf' Season 5 News, Update: Series Creator Jeff Davis Teases Introduction Of Navajo Lore; Orny Adams Reprises Role

MTV's hit supernatural teen drama TV series "Teen Wolf" Season 5 is currently on a break and will reportedly come back to the small screens this January 5. Despite the long wait, fans are still talking a lot about the show. The latest news indicates the introduction of new characters hailing from interesting cultural backgrounds.

In a recent casting report from Enstarz.com, it was found that the second half of the season will see the integration of Native American lore. According to the site, Kira (Arden Cho) and her mother will travel far from Beacon Hills. Their journey will have them face the members of the Navajo tribe.

The series creator, Jeff Davis, dished the details first to Teen Wolf News. He said that the team had to work with a Navajo consultant. As further divulged in the website, the actual Navajo legends talk about Skinwalkers, which are thought to be capable of transforming into different animals and even taking other people's identities and using it as their own.

Davis went on to say that the episode will particularly find Kira and her mother in a place "out at Shiprock in New Mexico."

Enstarz, meanwhile, cited the casting of actress Tonantzin Carmelo in October. The site speculated that the actress could be playing the role of a Skinwalker but it has yet to be confirmed.

With the coming of new characters comes also the news of old ones returning. As confirmed, comedian Orny Adams is set to reprise his role as Coach Finstock for the latter part of Season 5B. Apparently, his return was made public when Cho took to her social media to greet the actor on his birthday as well as mentioned him being spotted at the set.

A report from LatinTimes.com went on to reveal Cho and co-star, Cody Saintgnue, who plays Brett Talbot, dressing up as lacrosse athletes. This information consequently confirms the return of the sport in the forthcoming episodes of the series.

To reiterate, "Teen Wolf" Season 5B will return to MTV January 5.
