'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' News: Production to Start Soon, New Vehicles Revealed

Filming and production of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" is set to start soon in various locations in New York City and in order to get fans excited about the upcoming sequel, producer Michael Bay recently shared photos of the vehicles that the crime-fighting turtles will be using in the film.

The first photo he shared on Twitter showed a garbage dump truck with the name "Tartaruga Brothers" on it. According to a report in Deadline, this truck is actually the Turtle's "Battlewagon" which was already shown in the latter part of the first movie. "Tartaruga" is the Italian word for "turtle." The other photo is that of a Polaris slingshot which looks like a sports car but is actually a three-wheeled motorcycle, which according to the report is already outlawed in Texas because it does not meet the state's definition of a motorcycle, nor is a street car.

The movie is being directed by Dave Green, who is known for kids movies. According to the report, it is part of the studio's bid to make the sequel more kid- and family-friendly than the first one. The first movie apparently earned $485 million worldwide despite not so good critical reception. Platinum Dunes is targeting to earn more with the sequel and they are pulling out all stops to make sure this happens.

According to a report in Forbes, part of their "insurance policy" is to bring back not just the original cast – Megan Fox, William Fichtner and all the four actors portraying the four turtles are returning – but also bring in new and exciting cast members. First on the list is "Arrow's" Stephen Amell as villain Casey Jones, who is quite popular because of the hit TV series. Second on the list is Tyler Perry, who will play mad scientist Dr. Baxter Stockman. This casting basically covers the main villains in the animated series.

In addition to this, however, the villainous but comic duo of Bebop and Rocksteady will also be joining the fray, almost completing the villain line up. There is therefore a possibility that Krang will make an appearance as well. For die hard fans of the animated series, this will be very exciting to see.
