'Tekken 7' DLC New Characters: More Details Revealed

New costumes and stages also coming to 'Tekken 7' as DLC

Post-launch downloadable content will be made available for the home version of "Tekken 7," and developers have hinted that these could be very interesting additions.

Back in January, franchise director Katsuhiro Harada shared that the paid DLC for the game will feature special content. Harada added that they will not be selling classic "Tekken" characters.

Unsurprisingly, fans wanted to learn more about these DLC plans that Harada was alluding to.

Over on Twitter, game designer Michael Murray was asked about the DLC coming to the game.

Specifically, Twitter user "@ruri_pyon" sought further clarification from Murray regarding Harada's recent comments about the game's DLC plans.

In response to the query, Murray mentioned "special characters" and added that he thinks fans will be excited to learn more about them. Unfortunately, Murray left it at that and didn't provide any further hints related to how these characters could be exciting.

While specific details aren't available just yet, Harada's earlier comments could mean that the DLC fighters coming to the home version of "Tekken 7" may be entirely new to the series.

Perhaps they could be original fighters made just for the game, or developers could go in another direction and decide to include popular characters from other fighting game franchises, similar to what they have already done with Akuma.

Apart from additional characters, developers are also planning to release other types of DLC items for the upcoming fighting game.

A Season Pass that will be released for the game will give players access to additional content in the form of more costumes, stages, those aforementioned characters as well as a new game mode, according to Bandai Namco.

Developers have yet to detail these other post-launch additions, though more details should be made available sooner, especially with "Tekken 7" already set to be released for the PC, PS4 and the Xbox One on June 2.
