'Tekken 7' Rumors: Next Character Revealed for the Game Could Be Eddy Gordo

Eddy Gordo could end up being a regular 'Tekken 7' roster member and not a DLC character

"Tekken 7's" day one roster may not be completely filled out just yet, with a new rumor hinting that there may be a familiar face set to join the game.

According to a new report from Avoiding The Puddle, both franchise director Katsuhiro Harada and game designer Michael Murray made their way to Brazil recently to attend a press event, and they apparently came with a new character in tow.

Rumors about this new character even made its way to some Facebook pages, the report added.

So, who is this new character who was reportedly revealed at the event? The location of the press event may have been a clue, as none other than the agile Capoeira practitioner Eddy Gordo was the character who was apparently revealed.

Eddy is no stranger to the series, as many long-time fans of the fighting game franchise are likely very aware of his deadly combos.

Interestingly enough, Murray, one of the people said to be in attendance at the event, seemed to offer his thoughts regarding this latest "Tekken 7" rumor. In a tweet, Murray seemingly acknowledged the Eddy Gordo rumor, though he ultimately refrained from clearly debunking or confirming it.

Now, if this rumor does pan out, and Eddy does indeed end up becoming included in the upcoming fighting game, he may be a part of the main roster and not a downloadable content character.

Earlier this year, Harada revealed more about the post-launch plans for the game, revealing that they will not be selling "classic Tekken characters" and that the paid DLC will grant players access to "special content."

Eddy being featured in earlier "Tekken" games certainly seems to qualify him as a "classic character," and that may take him out of the running to become a DLC addition.

In any case, if Eddy really will be added to the home version of "Tekken 7," fans should find out about that sometime soon, as this new fighting game is already set to be released on June 2.
