'Tekken 7' Update: PS4 & Xbox One Release Announced, Game Playable With VR

The release date of fighting game "Tekken 7" isn't specified until now but developer and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that it will be made available to platforms PS4 and Xbox One. According to Venture Capital Post, producer Katsuhiro Harada revealed the details during the Paris Games Week.

But aside from the two platforms, Harada also announced that the upcoming game will be made with the Unreal Engine 4, which is known for producing a high standard of graphic quality. Through it, the game will be made compatible with the PlayStation VR, which is the unreleased console that is believed to change the way games are played.

News AU noted that Michael Ephraim, managing director of PlayStation, consider the new headset as revolutionary. "This is 360 — everywhere you look you're in the game...We think it's the biggest change in gaming we've ever seen," he said.

"Tekken 7" is announced to be one of the games listed to be compatible and playable with PlayStation VR, which was previously tagged as the Project Morpheus. Other games in the list include "Gran Turismo Sport," "Battlezone," "Until Dawn," "RIGS: Mechanized Combat League" and "Robinson: The Journey."

And since the upcoming game is set to mark the 20th anniversary of the series, KPopStarz noted that Bandai Namco have prepared a surprise for its fans once the game is released.

Sony also revealed some details in their PlayStation Blog. It wrote, "Tekken is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the latest chapter in the historic series. Continue the fight amongst the Mishima clan and its newest member: Kazumi Mishima."

It then invited fans to stay tuned and to watch out for the upcoming game in order to find out the secret of the Mishima clan. Everything will be concluded in "Tekken 7" which is expected to arrive sometime in 2016.

Fans will need watch out for details to find out when exactly the game will be released.
