Tesla Releases Pricing, Delivery Dates for Model X SUV

Tesla Motors has finally announced the delivery dates for its Model X and revealed that the new crossover utility (CUV) will carry a price tag of $80,000.

The electric car manufacturer has posted the configuration details for the Model X on Tesla forums. The Signature Series will be the first unit available for purchase and it will cost at least $132,000. The car's delivery schedule will start anytime between the middle or last quarter of 2016, according to Forbes.

The base 70D model has a range of 220 miles with a maximum speed of 140 mph, and can go from 0 to 60 in just six seconds. Production for this model has not yet started, but it is expected to commence early 2016, Seating Chair reports.

The 90D model, on the other hand, has a range of 250 miles with a maximum speed of 155 mph, and can go from zero to 60 in just 3.8 seconds and 3.2 seconds when in Ludicrous mode. The six-seat interior costs another $3,000 and the seven-seat interior is $4,000. Adding the Autopilot feature will cost an additional $2,500, the report details.

The 90D and P90 versions of the Model X will be delivered starting mid-2016, the report adds.

The Model X standard unit has Falcon Wing rear doors that automatically adjust to the height of the garage, all-wheel drive, automatically retracting rear spoiler, parking sensors, automatic emergency parking, and rear accessory carrier. In addition, it includes GPS-enabled Homelink, automatic keyless entry, and maps with real-time traffic updates, the report relays.

Meanwhile, the Signature Series of the new CUV is able to park and steer itself using its Autopilot feature, and it has Smart Air Suspension with GPS memory. This unit also has three adult second-row seats, one flat-folding seat, and two adult third-row seats, the report relays.

The federal tax incentives for the new electric SUV is around $7,500.
