Thanksgiving Day Deals at Walmart, CVS and Target

Families across the U.S. will sit down Thursday to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal and retailers like Walmart, CVS and Target want to help families save money on the meal, before they blow it all on Black Friday.

The average cost of a Thanksgiving meal – which includes turkey, stuffing, pie, potatoes and green beans – is just shy of $50, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation. The cost increased from $43 last year, and has doubled since 1991. The cost of turkeys has increased almost 25 cents per pound since last November.

Experts estimate that Walmart will sell Thanksgiving Day materials for about 20 percent less than grocery stores.
