'The 100' Season 4 Spoilers; Clarke Still Reeling from Lexa's death; Will not be Falling in Love Anytime Soon

Clarke must be given time to grieve and move forward says the actress who plays her

Eliza Taylor, the actress who plays Clarke in "The 100", revealed that a romantic relationship might happen to her character down the line. However, she does not see it happening in the upcoming Season 4 as a relationship will be the least of Clarke's concerns.

Something Special

Clarke and Lexa consummated their relationship last season but Clarke lost her very soon after. Lexa's death is something that will forever have a great impact on Clarke. It also shook the fandom of the series to its core.

This is probably the reason why Taylor is adamant in not wanting her character to fall in love again anytime soon. What Clarke had with Lexa was special, so special that Clarke will still be reeling from her loss in "The 100" Season 4.

In an interview, Taylor said that it will take a long time for Clarke to grieve and move forward. The actress wants to give her TV persona time to allow her those. Taylor added that given what Clarke has just been through last season, there might not be a possibility for her of falling in love sometime soon.

Lexa's Death

Meanwhile, EP Jason Rothenberg said he knows of fan sentiments wishing for a more heroic death than Lexa had. Since she was such a powerful character in the series, they find her dying through a stray bullet rather a non-heroic way to die. Even though Rothenberg wanted to give in to fans' demands, he said that the show is not really about heroic deaths in the battlefield.

He further revealed that he was trying to make a point in making Lexa die the way she did. He wanted to show how fragile life can be that even a powerful person like Lexa can die because of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He wanted to really stress that tragedy.

Clarke in Season 4

In "The 100" Season 4, Clarke will deal with the aftermath of taking down the evil Artificial Intelligence or ALIE who said that the planet's death began with Clarke's choice to flip the switch. She did this not for anything else but to end the battle.

Whether ALIE is telling the truth when she said that is still uncertain but some spoilers say that it will soon come to fruition in the upcoming season. It also means that Clarke will therefore be busy saving the planet to do much of anything else.

As to the question of how Clarke will be in the new season after Lexa's death, Taylor said that one thing Clarke is good at is compartmentalizing. She can push forward even at the worst situations. It may be a little tricky this time because she lost somebody she loves. However, in true Clarke fashion, she will definitely be able to go through it.

There has been no announcement when "The 100" Season 4 will premiere but it will most likely be early 2017 on The CW.
