'The 100' Season 4 Updates and Spoilers: Upcoming Season to Have Nuclear Apocalypse Survival As Theme; Who Dies and Who Lives

Episodes of "The 100" Season 4 will feature new problems about survival after a nuclear apocalypse.

"The 100" Season 4 is set to premiere in 2017 and to fans and followers of The CW's post-apocalyptic series, this is one long wait. But cast and crew of the series have a few revelations that will surely satisfy viewers.

Executive Producer Jason Rothenberg divulged that something big will challenge "The 100" survivors next season. To make the fans' wait more bearable and to put an end to their speculations as to what will happen, Rothenberg said that a nuclear apocalypse will take place in the fourth season.

The world will meet its end due to a nuclear meltdown in a matter of six months, Rothenberg said. The artificial intelligence that revealed this news to Clarke Griffin also said that the earth will be 96 percent uninhabitable.

Fans hope nuclear apocalypse will not happen

Viewers and followers sincerely hope that a nuclear apocalypse will not happen, since this will surely result in character deaths and terrible situations for the survivors. A nuclear disaster could also suspend all relationships that are beginning to blossom in the show, such as the relationship between Monty and Harper.

Creators of the show added that a nuclear apocalypse cannot be stopped. This is why characters should be enjoying the world while they still can.

Cast tweets

Some of the cast shared their thoughts on the upcoming season:

The post-apocalyptic world—who lives and who dies

Also according to reports, Murphy, played by Richard Harmon, will not be facing any major life events, despite the imminent nuclear apocalypse. On the other hand, Christopher Larkin, who plays the role of Monty, would like to see his character being involved with Harper (Chelsey Reist). Larkin hopes that the one-night stand between the two characters would lead to something more special.

Octavia, portrayed by Marie Avgeropoulos, could undergo some changes. In an online interview, the actress hinted that Octavia could become an assassin in the next series. Clarke, played by Eliza Taylor, will continue to be the peacekeeper in the group as she helps decide who gets to live or not.

Who dies and who gets saved? As previously reported, Bellamy, played by Bob Morley, could be the first one to die after the nuclear apocalypse. Fans are not too pleased about this. However, all they can do is wait until "The 100" airs in 2017. There is no release date yet for the next season of The CW series.
