'The Affair Season 3' Preview and Spoilers: Who is Juliette?; Release Date Announced
A new character will stir the already-confusing love saga between Noah and Helen.
"The Affair" Season 3 opens with a big question: Will Noah find his way back to his ex-wife, Helen?
Fans have seen how the story revealed the worst side of Noah Solloway (Dominic West). Despite this, Helen Solloway (Maura Tierney) still wants his adulterous ex-husband back.
However, Tierney told an insiderthat Helen will not be able to reunite with Noah just yet.

Supporters of the series are aware of Helen's masochistic tendencies. But it will come as a relief to them that Dominic does not have the same romantic feelings toward her anymore. In Season 3, the question as to how this will affect Helen's way of coping with her emotions will be answered.
Tierney explains that Helen's love for Noah has become an obsession. Although Helen is already in a relationship with another guy, comes out with a new relationship with another guy, she is still holding on to the idea that maybe, her reunion with Dominic will solve all her struggles.
Series co-creator Sarah Treem confirms that the new season will have a lot of twists that will involve Noah, Helen, Alison (Ruth Wilson), and Cole (Joshua Jackson).
The new character: 'Juliette'
Treem disclosed during Showtime's yearly presentation to the Television Critics Association in Showtime that a new character will join the cast. Actress Irène Jacob has been tapped to play the role of Juliette Le Gall.
With Juliette now in the picture, a new relationship complication may begin for Noah, following the disastrous outcome of his previous romantic involvements with Helen and Alison.
Juliette's character is described as someone who helps Noah understand his character better, after all the trauma that he went through in the past.
A new style of storytelling
But Treem was not clear about how the show's original presentation and style of storytelling will evolve, especially now that the story has reached a whole new level.
Season 3 will start with a three-year jump from the previous season 2's setting. Tierney confirms that from this jump, the story will go back and forth around the three years that have passed.
The new season will also show how the characters face the consequences brought about the events which took place in Season 2.
Tierney on questions about Helen
After being nominated in the Emmys for her part as Helen in "The Affair", Tierney answered some of the fans' queries about her role.
When asked was it like when Season 2's format changed to give more focus to her character, Tierney answered that she found it fun and exciting at the same time. She had to learn to let go of both Helen's ego and her own, and this provided her a breathing space to let her character do whatever Tierney wished her to do.
Replying to another question, she shared that she is different from her character in "The Affair" in that Helen is affluent, and she is not. And unlike her, Tierney does not have four children. She, however, said that she appreciates her character's sense of humor and sense of irony.
Tierney also defended Helen when someone commented that she comes up with irresponsible decisions. She said that she thinks that they are essential. She even lauded the writers for exploring this facet of Helen's emotional state, especially in matters involving her relationship with her ex.
Season premiere
The cast and production team of the "The Affair" are currently filming episodes of the new season in New York. Season 3 of "The Affair" premieres on November 20.
