'The Big Bang Theory' Season 11 Episode 4 Spoilers: Leonard's Mother Has a Surprise for Penny

Leonard's (Johnny Galecki) mom, Beverly (Christine Baranski), will try to bond with her daughter-in-law in the upcoming episode of "The Big Bang Theory."

In the episode titled "The Explosion Implosion," the synopsis reveals that Beverly will try to set up a new friend for Penny (Kaley Cuoco). Though the blonde has no idea why her husband's mom is acting weird, she will nevertheless be okay with the offer. It is Leonard who will feel that something is wrong with the whole situation.

The promo shows Penny telling her husband about his mom's latest scheme. According to Penny, she spends most of her time messaging Beverly. Leonard tells his wife that he does not like it that she and his mother are getting along so well. He says that he married Penny to spite his mom, so the current set-up is ruining it all. Penny is understandably speechless after hearing her husband's words.

Elsewhere, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Howard (Simon Helberg) will spend some bonding time together. The two will drive to the desert to launch a model rocket they have been working on and to get away from their current problems.

Lately, things have been toxic for Sheldon since he and Amy (Mayim Bialik) are planning their wedding. He wanted the ceremony to take place during the Comic-Con, but his bride did not agree. Eventually, Sheldon let Amy handle all the preparations.

As for Howard, he seemed stressed about the whole Ruchi (Swati Kapila) fiasco. When Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) introduced her friend to Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and Stuart (Kevin Sussman), she had no idea both would decide they were in love with Ruchi.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 11 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
