Big Bang Theory Season 8 Spoilers: Jim Parsons Almost Didn't Become Sheldon Cooper

This week on the 13th episode of its 8th season of the hit sitcom "The Big Bang Theory," Dr. Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) revealed an unlikely notion regarding the rate of his productivity as a physicist.

A report from LatinPost.com indicated that in "The Anxiety Optimization," Sheldon will have this belief in which he said that he can have more breakthroughs in his professional field if only he is more anxious.

By saying so, he told his friends to try to make his life "as miserable as possible" so that he can be more productive in his work. Citing Carter Matt, the publication speculated that this could be a welcoming thought for Leonard (Johnny Galecki) who always had the penchant for things that could mess up the genius.

The spoiler reports went on to say that Sheldon's "anxiety optimization" plan could end up to nothing. He did, initially, reached the desired level of anxiety. But in turn, it makes him happy because he found out that the plan is actually working.

With this feeling of utter satisfaction, his stress meter levels off.

In related news, Enstarz.com shared Glamour's recent interview with actor Jim Parsons in which he revealed that he had almost didn't become the popular Sheldon Cooper that he is known today.

"There was a show that was on for one season called Out of Practice that producer Christopher Lloyd did, and I wanted that very, very badly," he informed the media outlet. "I got called back and stuff and went far enough [in the process] for it to be disappointing when it didn't happen. It all worked out for the best-for all of us-but that is the first thing [I think of]."

Speaking of "Out of Practice," the CBS show did run from 2005-2006 but was cut off due to poor ratings.

For the meantime, "The Big Bang Theory" airs Thursdays, at 8 p.m. on CBS.
