Big Bang Theory Season 8 Premiere Date, Spoilers: Sheldon Returning to Amy, Big Developments for Penny?

Season 8 of CBS highly-popular nerdy sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" will return to air with a one-hour premiere on Sept. 22, 2014, Monday and will resume its usual Thursday time slot on Oct. 30.

Now that it's only a matter of days before fans got to see again their favorite Pasadena roommates, a lot are actually hankering for some teasers and insider's info on what to expect with the returning show. Here's what we rounded up so far.

First off, there's a big confirmation from executive producer Steve Molaro saying that Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) didn't board the train and will stay to continue the relationship he shared with Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik).

In a recent interview with TV Line, the executive producer said that the two will likely to move forward in their relationship.

"They're on the same trajectory that they've been on since they met, and that is she is continuing to drag him along into this relationship, whether he wants to admit that he likes it or not," Molaro explained. "He's come a long way. She's got him to a place where they hold hands and they kiss and they go on regular dates. While it may not seem like a lot, it's a colossal amount for him."

Meanwhile, Movie Pilot revealed some snapchats from the upcoming season's episodes showing Penny (Kaley Cuoco) donning a short bob. According to the publication, this could be signs that Penny will once again go through some "major life changes" after she gave up her dreams of hitting the stardom and instead chose to become a pharmaceutical rep for Bernadette's company.

Then there's the relationship she shared with Leonard (Johnny Galecki) of whom she was engaged with after the previous season ended. Many of the fans feared that they might end their bond when the show returns but creator Chuck Lorre told ET Online that the "engagement is safe."
