'The Big Bang Theory' Season 8 Recap, Spoilers: Sheldon and the Gang Get a Second Chance at Prom in 'The Prom Equivalency'

In the previous episode of the hit sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" Season 8, the fans were delighted to see Academy Award Winner Billy Bob Thornton appear as Dr. Lorvis.

In "The Misinterpretation Agitation," Dr. Lorvis was Penny's (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) acquaintance at her pharmaceutical sales rep job. Misinterpreting Penny's gestures, Dr. Lorvis walked into Penny's front door, bearing flowers, to pursue his romantic intentions. He incidentally bumps into Sheldon (Jim Parsons) who in turn told Penny's fiancé, Leonard (Johnny Galecki).

As found out, Dr. Lorvis has worked as a urinary specialist to some of the big names in the entertainment industry and boasted to the gang about the "memorabilia" he kept in his home.

Eager and curious to see, the boys paid a visit to the doctor's house to see the collection. This gave Dr. Lorvis time to pursue his initial romantic plans with Penny. However, his attention got swerved when he saw Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Amy (Mayim Bialik).

In the upcoming episode entitled "The Prom Equivalency," the gang has been given a second take at prom. An official plot summary was revealed.

"When the gang recreates a high school prom on the roof of the guys' apartment building, Sheldon feels pressure to participate in all the typical romantic traditions," the synopsis reads.

Spoiler reports indicated that the idea comes up when the girls exchange their prom stories to each other. It turns out that it was only Penny who was able to enjoy her time in the occasion. Both Amy and Bernadette had miserable memories of their prom.

The boys, on the other hand, hadn't been to one.

In a recently-released promo video for the upcoming segment, Penny asked the girls, "What kind of teenager did you think I was?"

"Easy," replies Bernadette.

"Slutty?" Amy says.

"The word is 'popular,'" Penny deadpans.

Now that they already had their respective lovers, the girls pressure the boys to participate in reliving their prom nights; this time in a more romantic way.

"The Big Bang Theory" Season 8 Episode 8 "The Prom Equivalency" airs this Thursday, Nov. 6, at 8 p.m. on CBS.
